MOM Service levels

Lawrence101

Has anyone noticed problems dealing with the MOM.

Every dealing I have with them has been a nightmare. They promise to respond to queries within three days but never do. When I chase up the case officer never has any notes on the file and the front line staff have therefore no details about the case to share. Again they promise that the case officer will respond within 3 days but they never do. It's a never ending chain of cat and mouse.

Worse still, I had a change in visa which I noitified the MOM and they simply ignored my notification form - they didn't process it! I have essentially been on the wrong visa for 6 months and completely unaware. When I chase them, again they show no urgency or care to solve the problem.

Anyone else experienced this?

It’s but surprise for me to hear. Not sure if there was any communication gap between you and MoM staff.

What do you mean by you were  on a wrong visa? MoM doesn’t grant visas. They provide work pass (EP, S-pass, work pass and PEP). All kind of visa approve at ICA.

Like all immigration authorities I ever encountered in various other countries, MoM certainly isn't perfect and has room for improvement.

However, before you complain about this in the way you did above, you should realize that it is their game, their court and their ball - so you better play by their rules (not yours)! It is well possible that your confrontational style reduces their motivation to serve you well.
