Does anyone know how often the Brazil ministry site updates on visa status processing.

Whether by the day, week, etc.

No onen does .  It is unpredictable.  You put through the paperwork and pray it is getting processed.


Constant calls and e-mails  to the Consulate might lead you nowhere, and often fall into deaf ears. Someone gets fired or promoted, the ball gets dropped. No one says, "here, i need you to follow through on this" . They will call you when something gets processed to summon up your presence.


There is a reason why, in Brazil, the ones who can afford leave these matters to a Despachante, often a gopher who runs errands and has the in and outs of working with Brazilian Governmental Bureaucracy.   Chances are , you will need that person to carry the torch. That means, paying someone to get it done in your behalf.


Even these days,with Digital Government, you can pretty much rest assured, with those lame  duck User interfaces they create that take several attempts to get it working,
