Is expat status (special Tax regime) lost after getting B card?

Hello everyone,

Is the special tax status revoked after getting the B card. I am aware that B card keeps the expat in foreign population register while with L card one is included in the local population register. I am wondering if B card also let the expat keep the special tax regime since the person is still in foreign population register.

Could someone please guide me on the same?

Hello,

special foreigner tax status is normaly up to 5 years in a Belgium, so basically  would say "yes" as permanent stay require you to have 5 years of stay.

Thanks for the reply @Alex, One more question for your attention:

I went to the Commune(Etterbeek) last week to apply for B card but got the response that we can't apply for B card explicitly and that an invitation is sent automatically to apply for it.

I am an A card holder now with validity up to June 2023 and have completed 5 years of uninterrupted stay in Belgium in July. Should I ask my employer to apply for work permit renewal again? If yes, will it be a B card that I will get this time or an A card ?
