Thank you very much for the info; very helpful. My Spanish is like 0; so hard to get all info but gives me a good guide what is out there and prices. Very helpful and it confirms there are places I be ok with for the price I was hoping for. If you come across English Rental sites please let me know but I will probably
be seeking owner or apartment complex direct to avoid realtors and fees their fees.

Are you familiar with what people are paying for good healthcare insurance in Peru. That also varies from person to person; age and existing conditions etc. and I realize that. You have an idea for a 65 y/o man from people you talk to; ballpark price ?

When using Google as the search engine, there is an option to "Translate this page" next to each link which may do a good enough job to be understandable.

But unfortunately it also says that private insurance may be obtained only up to the age of 65, and you probably would not qualify for the state-run insurances which may be open only to citizens of Perú.

However healthcare costs overall appear to be low, for instance the article gives the cost of one plan from Mapfre at about $370 USD (about 1200 Soles) per year per person.  Many expats in many countries find that just paying out of pocket for most medical procedures is do-able due to low cost and also generally gets you quicker and perhaps better service. 

Hopefully someone who is more familiar with the healthcare availability for expats in Perú than I am will reply to this thread.
