I also like Colombia for retirement. But the problem is that Colombia tax your Social Security and other retirement income. Because of this a person can loose 30% of his income. In that case it is worse than in US.

I personally dont know anyone who pays tax on their overseas income in Colombia and I know quite a few expats.


May not alwsys be to the letter of the law  but thats the way it is.
