Multiple entry long term tourist visa for Brazil

saswataoca

Hi All,
I am an Indian, married to a Brazilian national, both living in India. I have been to Brazil twice, each time with a tourist visa that was given for 90 days only. Please advise if there is anyway I can get a long term, (5 years) multiple entry tourist visa. Kindly advise if this is at all possible and how this can be done.
Thank you.

Hi, saswataoca,

The next time you go to the Brazilian Consulate to request a visa, make sure that your spouse is with you, and ask them about a multiyear, multi-entry visa for someone in your situation.  They'll probably suggest something in the VITEM temporary visa series, perhaps a VITEM II, which used to be for business but now covers several purposes.

Since you don't plan to live in Brazil, you don't qualify for a VITEM XI (family reunion, which is only good for a year anyway), but as the spouse of a Brazilian citizen you have a permanent connection to Brazil, and should be eligible for something more convenient than a tourist visa.  Good luck!
