Overlapping Of Visas

I am going to Brazil on the 30th of December 2019.

I want to know if I will have to leave on the 15th of January to avoid overstaying my visa OR if I can stay until the 30th of January, since my tourist visa and 180 day allowance will reset on the 17th of January.

These are my dates of entry this year.

I entered Brazil, 17th January 2019.

I then received a 90 day extenstion up until the 17th of July.

I left Brazil on the 1st of July, meaning I have 16 days left on my balance.

When I reenter Brazil on the 30th of December, I will have been out of the country for 182 days if that counts for anything.

I am entering Brazil on the 30th of December 2019. I haven't bought my outward ticket yet...

Does that make sense?

It does! Leaving the 16th of Jan 2020 even is safe which is your last day... Leaving the 30th Jan 2020 would subject you to overstaying fines of R$100 per day. Of course you can stay till 30th of Jan 2020. You won´t go to prison if that´s what scares you. Just pay the fine and leave or pay that later when you return to Brazil for another visit!

I agree with Robal, except for the small but significant technicality that Brazil counts the day of your arrival and the day of your departure against you as full days.
When you arrive on December 30, 2019, the Polícia Federal system will look back on the last twelve months of your record, and find, by my count, 166 days.  So, it will inform the officer in Passport Control that you're entitled to 14 more days, counting December 30.  That would make January 13 your last day to leave without a fine.

OK, I think I will have a look at flight prices and see the difference in cost if I leave on 13th on January vs leaving a couple weeks later and paying the fine as well.

BUT when I arrive, I will ask the immigration officer as well, great tip!
