Hi - There's an "American Society of Sao Paulo" with quite active happenings. You can plug in the name under quotation in the URL and contact them about membership etc. They are also having a Super Bowl party on 8th you can try to join and attend....both costs $$.

not in curitiba yet but it's on my shortlist — keep hearing it's way more organized than most brazilian cities and the cost is still reasonable. is there much of an english-speaking crowd there or is it mostly brazilian social circles? I'm still in the research phase but curitiba and floripa keep coming up as the livable options in the south.
