Get them to teach you about how to make money on You Tube.

Thanx! That one already know, but I think I will open by asking them what they want to know and see how it goes.

Teach them respect for the environment, how to dispose of rubbish, do not litter, etc.

We are part of a local non-political association that has 8 members, all of whom pay a monthly fee and work for free. We also raise funds through Brazilian and international sponsors and donors. Then we donate to local causes with the intent to create jobs, improve the environment and attract tourism. In the past 5 years we have distributed about R$200,000.

We also run several events annually for schoolchildren on the island, give them talks and demonstrations, and include lunch and a memento of the day. Goes down pretty well...

I think high school kids are interested in anything American so they will probably be asking you lots of questions.  The ones that have the courage will try to speak some English to you.  And yes, as Peter said, teach them about the environment.  It is so important and impactful.

@Droplover I hope so. I actually wrote an English language adventure book for that age group (Amazon)..."GLOBE AGENTS: Race 2 Rio". I will sign it and give it away to the kid with the best English.

Many, Many Thanx to all that replied to this post and gave great suggestions. Unfortunately, this was done after the charming 4th grade appeared. The next two days it was the 5th and 6th grades which were decidedly rowdier. My wife cancelled my talk because it was difficult to restrain them. I hope to use these suggestions in the future, maybe with a smaller more orderly class.
