Best Way To spend 2 - 3 weeks between Christmas and New Year in Brazil

Interesting question. In our case being based in Rio we've mainly stayed local in Copa, or even Angra dos Reis, as the number and variety of distractions are much greater here than elsewhere. But, we also like that aspect of it.

We've also gone to Trancoso/Arrail d'Ajuda and Praia de Pipa/Natal during this time period as well. It's the wrong time to travel due to the doubling or even tripling of prices however.

My attitude is to try to spend as little on travel costs and hotels if you already have a place to live in a popular area. Angra is awesome as we drive there, yet can still stay in a luxury pousada, thus cutting costs. Book now, but that applies to almost everywhere desirable.

Has anyone in the forum tried the house swapping idea?  The idea here is - do a house swap for the second home if the second house is the home base?

Actually booking accommodation over the Christmas period is a cost effective way to travel in Brazil. Brazilians tend to spend time at home over Christmas (particularly Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day), so hotels, etc are very reasonably priced. Avoid New Year, however!

@Pablo888 Honestly, here in my little village in Northeastern Brazil with my wife and constant companion Simba, as well as a lot of wildlife, I have no desire to go anywhere else in Brazil. Having said that there are only two things on my Bucket List. One, of course is creating my YouTube channel which keeps me very busy. The other, dependent on a successful YouTube channel, is my custom Dune Buggy from Super Buggy in Natal. My guess is they would not deliver, so I would have to travel to Natal.
