you should be able to pay the tariff directly through your app, regardless of the country I am in im ordering rides in my app, Normally when it doesnt get processed - either its a delay that requires manual payment. go in on your app then pay, app does this time to time.

Any issues you can reach out to them via the app on your phone or the link that abthree provided!

And if there was any real issues uber would keep reminding you about payment every time you go to ride where you can pay the due amount on your current fare or next!

This OP is BS.

The app does not send a driver, unless the credit card has been authorizd in full in advance.

You cannot pay the driver, nor can they process payments.

I've used UBER over 200 times in Rio de Janeiro, and am a driver as well, when I am back in Canada.

You are free to have that opinion, however I have had countless times where I have been charged later, they pay drivers first and formost. I have had about 30 - 90 transactions where this has happened, if you dont fully understand how it works. I  get that however unless you actually work with ubers accounting firms. Then I may take a seat respectivly

I've done over 600 rides as a pax around the world, roughly 200 in Rio. And 17,000 as a driver since 2018.

What you are talking about, the posting delay of charges to a CC, do not reflect either the supposed false concern of the OP, nor the reality of how the system works.

Never a glitch on either side of the system, such as overcharging........etc........in my experience.

The app works as stated in Brasil, so, the premise of the OP is totally false. It is impossible, as payment is secured before a vehicle is dispatched.

This board had two similar absurd and factually incorrect posts made yesterday, indicative of an organized spam campaign.

Go figure ne ? Taxi's around the world are going broke, I suspect an misinformation campaign on their part.

Fair, But I have countless emails where ubers payment system failed due to network related ( wifi switching LTE switching and the sorts ) where the payment is delayed and because it was not processed properly uber cannot by law do a pending charge because uber doesnt qualify for DDA, so it sits in pending status till your next fare or you pay manually within the app

I think the longest ive had it sit idly is for about 2 weeks before I realized lol

@Gasparzinho 777 I totally agree (though not sure what the first sentence was, so don't include that) Anyway I was an UBER Driver longer than I care to admit and I totally agree. There is no "your almost certified to take a ride" Your either approved or not. If it is lagging it will continue for a while until the approval process is complete before they send you a car.

@roddiesho, the only time that I had problems with Uber was... in Rio last February.  And I did overpay two or three times for a particular ride.  But I don't remember why as it was after a carnavão party and I had a few too many vodkas....  The last time that this happened was in college when I was still single.

In this case, I did not mind any pending or double charges as I woke up in my hotel room safe and sound with my wife.

Will not do that again.

There are plenty taxicabs in Brazil, and for most part, they charge an honest fare.

That and the fact a taxicab license, which is bought and sold, belongs to the city that issues it. 

So if a taxicab owner operator paid for the right to operate a license that could be pulled at a moment's notice, it is safe to assume he/she has a vested interest to keep such license, and by doing so, will run a straight and narrow business.

Add to the fact, most taxicab fares are competitive with Uber. There are no pricing changes. Uber is not a regulated business. 

Why in heavens you poor sad sacks want to part 25% of your paid fare to a souless corporation is beyond me.
