1-No it is not hard to find a house if you use the correct ways.

2-Formalities: "Most of the times the rental contracts are for a year which means that you have to pay the rent for a year. If you have to move out before the end of your contract, you have to either sublet you apartment to another person, or come to an agreement with your landlord (more often than not you have to pay the rent for an extra month). To sign the contract you have to give your banking information for a credit check. If you don't pass the credit check you can either use a co-signer or pay 2 months of your rent in advanced. The co-signer will guaranty that you pay your rent and s/he has to have a good credit history. The landlord will ask you to give you SIN but based on law, you can avoid to do so. "

there is plenty of apartments but of course depends on ur budget and size you want to rent.... but montreal is amazing .... hope u will love it
