In retrospect, would you move again to Canada?

Yes, I would  I've been here 10 years and it's definitely been tough at times - especially during the first few years. Getting established and finding a good job took a while, even though my native language is English. Looking back, I would have rented for longer instead of rushing to buy a house. I would have also done more research on where to settle and perhaps picked somewhere with warmer winters! But all that said, there are so many good things about Northern Ontario and Canada generally. I love the lakes and the vast open spaces and have always found the people to be welcoming to newcomers.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems getting comfortable in Canada. How long has it been? Where are you living and what is the hardest part for you?

The hardest part ,I was working in Alberta and everything was perfect,I mean the weather is yucky,sometimes below 20 and 30 but you get use to,my job was good,my life was excellent over there but it was a1 year contract and the government reject the extension of my w.permit,the price of petrol was down and many Canadians were not working supposingly,the government did not approve the LMIA too as the rate of unemployment was high in Alberta. So I moved to Hamilton where I got a new job,I'm still waiting for the w.permit though,but I'm on the right page.alberta and Hamilton is very different

I haven't spent a lot of time in Hamilton, change is always hard, but at least you've found another job, others aren't so lucky. Oil prices have really affected Alberta, but I hope that you can settle in, get your work permit and get to enjoy some of your time in Canada.

Good that you find another job.... My husband also face the same problem.... No work permit extension in Alberta due to economic crisis so he had to return back home
