Process for migrating to Canada permanently.

Dews

Hi,

I wanted to know the process of applying for PR to Canada from Nepal. I'm married and have experience of around 4 years for Software testing and my husband is Medical Officer with exp of 2years.

So what is the process of our moving to Canada and getting VISA?

Regards.

Hi Dews,

The first step is to go the the Citizenship and Immigrations Canada website, fill out the online forms and see if you qualify for a visa.

From which side will it be better to apply from medical side i.e. my husband or being a software engineer that would be me??

Dews

I checked it says I'm not eligible, so what is the next step further to make my self eligible.

James

Did you fill out the online forms for both of you or just for yourself? If just for yourself then try doing it again using your husband's information.

When you completed the online information did the site give you a REASON why you are not acceptable? That's important information in order for anyone to try and give you advice as to what to do now.

Hi,

I don't know anything about the medical field, but as a Software Engineer, you might be able to find a job that gets you an LMO for a few years, and then you can go from there.
This website among many others has loads of jobs for developers and QA engineers. Here's the one from the company I work for:

https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/north-ame … -in-o.html

(hmm, the URL seems to have been removed from it, but figuring that out is a good first round to weed out people with insufficient computer skills, so I don't mind :-) )

I think the reason displayed was due to some kind of job not being offered, they didn't showed the exact reason.
So worried, I heard that IT sector PR has closed for Canada is it true?

I'm an IT guy from Hungary. I found a job in Montreal, they got me an LMO, and now I'm here on a 3 year work permit. It's a good first step. The funny thing is, my wife has an open work permit, so she's allowed to take any job she likes, while my permit is only for this specific job.

Back to your original questions:
I don't see why you could not both try to get here independently, and whichever first succeeds is allowed to bring their immediate family along.
