Are Canadians becoming racists?

hutkgjf

Dear Mr wjwoodward, I am surprised to read that a Namibian was shot in Canada very recently, the reasons are unknown and nobody knows why. Who will be the next immigrant victim ?
the article is here:

That's not the Canada that I know.

Hi Hericles,

The Namibian news articles about the killing are all very limited in the information they have printed.

If you read the following article in the City News Toronto, I think you will probably have a slightly different impression of what is possibly involved in this case.

From my own experience as a life-long Canadian resident and also a former police officer in Ontario, I can tell you that there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. First of all it was clearly not a random killing, nor was it a robbery. Clearly what took place was an execution. The shooter, by the description was also dark skinned as well. Something tells me that the victim of this crime was not innocent as a newborn baby, that he was probably involved in something that he shouldn't have been.

I can tell you without any hesitation whatever that people in Canada don't just go about shooting and killing people they don't know. For decades the annual murder rate in the WHOLE COUNTRY has been about 600, in the state where I live in Brazil there are more than that in one week. Also about 90% of those murders are solved within the first year, as opposed to here in Brazil where only 5% of all murders are ever solved.

Canada is, and always will be, a very safe country to live in, safe for Canadians and newcomers alike.
