Cool neighborhood to rent in Istanbul?

I'm moving to Istanbul and I don't want to spend more than $1000 USD a month for a one bedroom. I know nothing about neighborhoods in Istanbul!

I hope for a hip neighborhood with an intelligent nightlife and a good art/music scene. Does this exist for my price range?

Sorry Fatteyskod, I meant USD, and I hope $1000 is a lot of money. I don't know the cost of living very well, but this is the amount my company has agreed to pay for my apartment a month.
