@Julien hello too Julien,I am actually hoping to get a sponsored job in turkey. I am a trained nurse assistant. If given a chance of course I would be forced to move and live there, right? Can you help though
@farisoy2023 hello sir,I am in need of a sponsored job..the me how to go about it or connect me to an agent. I don't mind doing house work.
In the spirit of fostering connections and building friendships , I would love to extend an open invitation to all fellow expats meet-up. Here missing such platform where we can connect by Voice or Video.
I believe that through sharing our experiences, challenges, and triumphs, we can create a strong support network that enriches our time abroad.
I extend my warmest greetings to all fellow expats on this Expat Portal. Let's make the most of this platform, forge lasting connections, and create a vibrant community that supports and uplifts one another.
Hello everyone, nice to meet you , I am Ugandan, with a Bachelors of Arts with Education literature and English, hoping to move to Turkey if I get a sponsor for a Nanny Job, Thank you
@limakag I advice you not to take a sponsorship offer. most of the time it always ends bad, and most of the time people get over used. so hustle and go there and search on your own that way you will have right to your traveling documents.
Merhaba,
I am Abdul, a Muslim Asian American living in New York. I am planning to get Turkiye citizenship and relocate by summer of next year. I have so many questions and hope to get some answers from you all. I will create separate threads with relevant topics. Istanbul is probably my choice because I think it is a big city with better access to shopping, dining and meeting other singles.
Hello Good_day,
Welcome on board !
Indeed, the best way to get some infos is by creating new threads on the Istanbul forum and interact with members.
You may also read the Living in Turkey guide for expats for a good start.
We look forward to reading your questions on the forum.
All the very best

I am Nabeel Mehmood residing in Istanbul from the last three months and I have been visiting Istanbul from 2021. I am here looking for friends
Hello nabeelmehmood007,
Welcome to Expat.com
Feel free to post an advert in the Turkey classifieds section.
There is a section for friendship.
Also, you should write some more details about yourself and your hobbies. Doing this makes you more likely to meet people sharing the same interest as you.
Cheers,
Cheryl

Hi I'm Mark
I am 58 born and living in the UK.
Have gotten sick of the UK, even though I have a beautiful home that's less than 2km from the beach.
Looking to buy or rent in Antalya (Belek or Lara) by the end of the year.
I have owned property in Turkey previously and have visited the country 29 times.
Been offered a job starting in March with a reputable UK based company but have to sort out my own accommodation and residency.
Hello and welcome on board, Marktmorgan ^^
I see that you already have a thread on the forum : https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1034970
I hope you have been able to gather some useful infos.

Hello Bhavna,
I trust you are the moderators, I am currently member of some forums, but eg Anatalya and Alanya I would like to remove, how do I do this.
I appreciate the expat.com forums, but some are not useful to me (I might want to add Netherlands in the near future)
Looking forward to make more posts in the near future
Hello cdw057,
To better understand the issue, we will have to discuss and exchange info, which is not very practical on this forum.
I might suggest a solution (without knowing details I don't know if it will work for you). On the upper right side of the page, you will see your photo. Click and scroll to > Subscriptions. Click on Subscriptions and you will see all the forums and topics you are subscribed to. To can unsubscribe to forums or topics you don't want to follow.
Try it and let me know if it works for you.
Else, you can send us an email through the contact us form so that we can better handle this problem : https://www.expat.com/en/contact.html

@Julien Hi, my husband, Ian and I came to Turkey in 2020, and we love it here, considering ourselves very fortunate to be living in such a beautiful country.
We live near Fethiye, Mugla and are lucky to be near the coast: we also have family members on Ian's side living closeby. We both have varying interests; my main one being writing.
We thought it was about time to touch base with the expat forum!
Jane and Ian Reid
@janecrrphilae Welcome, I live in Alanya though, but I hope you have success, Mick and Trudie (youtube) are there I think
Hello, my name is Salim, 59, retired, born and bought up in the UK by parents from India. living in Alanya since early this year.
@Slim1398 Welcome, quite funny I was also 59 when coming to Alanya, I wish you a good time. Alanya has definitely a lot of pluses (I live in Mahmutlar with a lot of infrastructure and no crime, I think Alanya itself is more busy I would say).
For a laid back life it is perfect (perhaps even too much laid back).
We dropped our car (too much hassle although I went through the changing of driving permit (I would advice you to do even if you do not drive a car (just a bit of bureaucracy, but as I understand it has to be within 6 months after (official arrival (I think date on Ikamet))
I posted some things about pluses and minuses on the forum (I suppose you can look for this).
Anyhow, please enjoy life here.
@Mushtaqkk
Assalamalekum mushtaq, how r u...
my name is ali. I'm new to this forum .I'm 47 and canadian citizens, but basically, the background is from pakistan .
Wanted to ask you a few questions.
1. Which area is this where u bought this house or apartment?
2. How much is it ? If u don't mind me asking , and if u don't want to declare the exact numbers, then u may give me a range of price for me to get an idea in u.s $
3. Me and my wife r thinking of retiring in turkey, so that's y we r asking u about the location and price .
4. There is so much information on the net and youtube that I can't keep track of all the rules and regulations. So if u have a real estate agent I can contact, it would be great 👍 because I just want to deal with one person only who can do all the paperwork and the buying and bank chores.
5. Please don't mind for such a long message. I really need some proper info. So please help.

@alisyed16 We just moved from Canada. We are now settled in Antalya not too long ago. I am happy to share my experience with you since I understand exactly where you are coming from and what is required. I believe there is much we can discuss via private chat, and a forum is not the best place for disclosing personal information. However, in short moving and retiring in Turkey is very common for many nationalities, including Canadians. The attorneys are the first point of contact to begin your journey; then comes the real estate agents that make things tricky. Best to you.
@naveedm63
Assalamalekum naveed bhai .thx so much, can we talk In detail if u can please add me on Skype: ***
Would be great help
