How to marry in Saudi if you are on Visit or Business visa

imrancy

Salam,

I am a Pakistani citizen living and working in Dubai. I am going to Riyadh in couple weeks to get married to a Pakistani girl who is under her brothers sponsorship. I will come to Saudi on business visa, my question is can I get married on a business or visit visa in Saudi? If yes, do I need to go to Pakistani embassy to get this done? Or this is not possible, unless we both have Saudi Iqamas? Can this be done in Makkah?

Hope to hear from you soon

Regards
Imran

Dear Imran.
For recorded Marriage under an authorized Saudi Qazi , an Iqama is required from both sides . Bride and Bridegroom.
If you are travelling under a business visa you are not entitled to an Iqama hence cannot obtain driving license, residence on rent, rented car, ownership of vehicle and many more.

In a marriage contract , you as the groom will have to provide a valid Iqama which is indication of your legal stay in KSA.

If you require an off-record Marriage, or Marriage under Pakistani tradition, i advise you may have it done under a reputed Qazi in any city, including Makkah, however you may need to arrange the form "Nikkah Naama" for which i have no idea , but suggest it may be available at the Pakistani Embassy.

I say the above part out of experience part out of feedback from friends.

I've heard Jeddah consulate used to provide such marriage certificates.

Provided they get a nikkah certificate done from Makkah. As I know - possible in Makkah even though you are on a visit visa but in coordination with respective embassies.
