My experience has been that while I have many Saudi work friends, they are just that: work friends. They are too busy with family obligations and extended family to have time to hang out. Somebody also suggested to me that their families might not encourage/might be threatened by outside friendships and this is certainly a possibility.
You have to remember this, you in USA and me in KSA: when we come to a new country, we have all kinds of free time and are open/available for new friendships and ways to fill our time. However, the nationals have *established* lives, lots of family, many friends and activities and so no time for new friends.
Now maybe it's easier for the expat men here to be friends with Saudi guys, but for women it's very difficult (at least in my experience).

that makes a lot of since but hey you are more than welcome to hangout with my family anytimes I have 4 sister one of them studying English idk she will be a translator and that's good but the point is you and your family here or husband are more than welcome to our house anytime

Well see, that's one of the issues: lots of the expat women here are single, no family. So we're dependent on making friends. Where I work, there are very few expat women and the ones there are, well they seem to gravitate towards each other based on nationality (ie. the South Africans tend to hang with each other, Filipinas with each other, the Brits with each other, etc.).
Believe it or not, my best friends in KSA are a Pakistani brother and sister.
Aw well you can have me and my sistaa as saudi friends btw I'm a saudi and I live here and imagine idk know any saudi in Jeddah my best friends in Jeddah is Pakistani girl and indian guy and I consider Pakistanis and Indians a citizens lol specially paks lol they have so close culture
