Const. PM considering relocation.

PMUSA

Hello, I'm new to the forum.

I am currently under consideration for a position in Jizan. I am a construction project manager and would be working on a large medical facility. I am in the preliminary stages of discussion about the job. I am trying to get clarified whether the job is in the old city of Jizan or the new Jazan Economic City being built.

One of my questions is, does anyone know the status of the new Jazan Economic City? When I go to Google Earth it looks as though there is very little construction completed on the project. I am having a hard time finding any information on how far the project is a long. I did find one site that seem ed to indicate it was about 30% complete, but since the entire project is scheduled to last through 2020 I think this may be incorrect.
I've read through a large number of posts on the forum, and it seems that the accommendations in the old city leave a lot to be desired by US standards. I would imagine that new housing of some kind would have to be built nearer the new economic city location simply to house, the large number of workers that will be required to construct the project.

I am also hoping to find a western xpat that is working as a construction project manager in the country. I realize that since this is a remote area, there is probably is nobody working in this area, but maybe somewhere else in the country and that they could give me an idea of what would be considered a good compensation package for someone with a construction management degree and almost 30 years of construction experience. From the research I have done,  I think I would need a package on the upper end of the pay scale I've been able to find on the Internet. Based on some of the compensation packages that people have listed in the forums for what seemed to be professional positions, I may be wasting my time even considering the move.

Any help would be appreciated.
