Wall Decor?

Now that I've gotten out of the 'roommate from hell' situation and have my own place, I'm investing a few bucks to fix it up!

I have bought kitchenware, throw pillows, etc. but I need some wall art at a reasonable price. I could go with the Saudi type with palm trees, etc., or am considering framed posters (vintage travel posters rock!).

Any ideas/suggestions where to buy reasonably priced wall decor (not looking for original Picasso's lol)?  Or posters?  If I can get posters, any ideas where to get them framed?

THANKS!

At IKEA there are some kind of alternatives mostly in modern art concept.
Hi Aticus,

I've looked though the IKEA catalog and didn't see much.  Is there more at the actual store than in the catalog?

Thanks!
I am sure that there is more at the store.
The one on the Kharj road far on the right... ( if I am not mistaken :)
Yeah--the one that's a 40 riyal cab ride from my apt. LOL
try SACO on King AbdulAziz Road in the Al Worood District in Riyadh. There is also on on the Ring Road close to Exit 5 and another one in Malaz on Arba'een Street.
Alliecat,

Im finally back in KSA and doing the same thing.  Musicman is correct, the SACO store has some nice prints, etc.  Also try the furniture stores.  They all have some nice home accessories, wall decore, fake plants, lamps, rugs, etc.  Let me know if your interested in shopping.
And BTW, I noticed that there is a frame shop near our house (near the EID compound & Granada Mall).  Im sure there are more in the city, but this is the only one I've seen.
Welcome back CAF. Have a glorious stay in the Sands...
Thanks so much Musicman.  Looking forward to it.  :)
Welcome back, CAF!

I look forward to meeting you :)
Hey Alliecat

I just left you a note in your inbox to get a hold of me.  Lets have lunch this week if you are available.  Let me know.

LOL @ Burhan that was a very devious post.
Burnhan has left this same response on several threads.

My thought is that he wants to join in/be noticed but doesn't quite know what to say? lol
I remember year 1996 when irc and mirc was very popular.. It was the preliminary experience with internet, I think we all had ..

This type of conversation reminds me that..
Same here Aticus ;D
Allicat i think there is a place i know which has contemporary art, abstract , rock , historic posters that come in light frames , if thats what you need, but its long since i've been there, let me check and get back. I think you may find a lot of variety there.
Also i highly recommend DIY stuff, there is more of a feel into these things. There a lot of DIY articles i know, and i was thinking of creating a thread with a mixture of DIY stuff, any requests ? :D
