hey mercantiliste, I am not really sure about this information but i think Kuwait has a fireworks display by the seaside either in salmiya (beside marina mall) or at kuwait city seaside.
btw, Jan. 2 is an official holiday here in Kuwait. You probably wont be working on that day too.. Have a safe trip and welcome to Kuwait!
