Is there an ATM at the airport??

Morning all,

My son and I are due to fly out to Bahrain in a little under 2 weeks to meet my husband (assuming his iquama is sorted by then!!!).

I am trying to get organised, and wondered if there was an ATM at the airport I can withdraw money from.  (My bank account provider doesn't charge me a fee for this!)

Or am I better getting some Dinars here in the UK and bringing them with me?

Many thanks

Sarah

There are number of ATMs at the airport. When you arrive, on your way out just before leaving the airport building, you will see The ATMs on our left.
There are also lots of money exchange bureau's

It would be cheaper to get Dinar's in UK.

If you bank with HSBC there are ATM's and banks here too
Thank you both.

Now I just have to find some cabin luggage suitable for a rather fussy 5 year old!!!  Aargh :)

Hello Jo,
It is cheaper to get Dinars here. In fact, as a rule of thumb, it is almost always cheaper to get the destination country's currency at the destination itself.

Sarah,
In addition to ATMs, there is also a Bahrain Financing Centre (BFC) at the airport and in many locations in Bahrain. To date, they always have the cheapest rates in Bahrain. In case for any reason you cannot use your Card here (very unlikely), you can also use BFC offices.
That's why I suggested exchange bureau's (BFC) if you pre order your dinar's through your bank it is cheaper than getting them at the origin airport. I wasn't suggesting getting them at the airport (at either end) as it's a rip off. If ATM don't charge you (check on individual machines though) then that may be a good alternative
But dont forget if you are coming in on a visit visa and are trying to do it at the airport you will need cash to pay for it on arrival.
