Day trading in Switzerland... taxes :(

oscar_78

Hi community!

I’m a day trader in Switzerland and it’s very likely that I will have to pay taxes for it as I don’t fulfil the requirements for private investor.

I have found contradictory information in the internet concerning the percentage I have to pay when I declare my gains:

11.5 % _ https://www.daytrading.com/ch

35 % _ https://www.moneyland.ch/en/stock-marke … s-tax-free

Can anyone put a bit of light in this darkness?

By the way, my gains are not related to dividends, just buying low and selling high, or at least that is the idea smile.png

Many thanks in advance!

Oscar

Depending on the number of trades made, this could be perceived as commercial. Accordingly, the income and expenses would have to be declared as income from self-employment, which would then be subject to income tax and AHV contributions.
