Employment and new work practices in Sweden

Did new work practices emerge over the last few months?

Yes, they started to divide working hours and capacity, for instance if an office which there are normally 12 in the staff, could be 4 at a time for 4 hours of period, meaning 50% each group, while 4 of them working from home and so on. Different companies/working places found different own systems. All have to clean/disinfect spaces after themselves before they leave, they don't shake hands with each other and no claps on shoulder. Since they now often work half shifts there is no need of eating at the work place etc. However it is different from place to place.   

Is working from home becoming the new normal or is it still marginal?

It is hard to predict such a thing now however many wanted to do this even long before the pandemic. But they also have a system in Sweden that one working individual is supposed to create more other job opportunities for others such as daycare, taxi/transport and also even wellness/healthcare (it is counted that people supposed to have a need of it by putting them into the pressure of everyday going and coming back to work), and many other market participants also will suffer and others that sell products and services for them and so on. Bottom line is it would create many negative by effects in the job market if all start to work from home.   

What about recruitment in companies located in Sweden?
Obviously it stands still.

Were there new laws passed regarding work? If so, what were the consequences on the labour market?

Actually I don't really know if they did so or not but as far as I know they passed pandemic/crisis handling related new laws only during these times.

Finally, what is your personal experience on that matter and on your own job specifically?

I actually did some changes and testing a new way of working remotely but it is too early to share any information about it now, however if God willing if this work out for me I can be anywhere in the world as long as there is high speed internet.

It seems that you are based in Malmo, therefore finding yourself in the midst of Swedish 'ebb & flow' during the Covid global pandemic.

Speaking only for myself, I did find Finnbo's structured and comprehensive response to the question very helpful regarding detailed information. We are 'en route' to Sweden and dependent on factual information that impacts on arrangements made ahead of our arrival within weeks.

Certainly all aspects covered aligns with everyday personal and working circumstances.

Taking it that you are highly informed already, therefore Finnbo's response simply did not add value to your experience. Therefore I do respect your response as much as I respect Finnbo's response.

Finnbo, many thanks for your willingness 'to educate and inform current bystanders' about what to expect upon arrival in Sweden.

Please do not consider limiting your replying level. Such action would/could defy the purpose of this platform.

It appears that you possess the skill of 'teaching, training & educating' others; no need to suppress that, especially when your style of response adds immense value to some people like myself.
