Andalucia estate agents

Hi, we are living in Uk as British and American couple. One of us has EU passport, both looking to retire to Spain  in 5 years but buy now as holiday home. Andalucia offers affordable houses to buy in good locations, Cordoba, Granada? We are planning a visit next month and thinking to contact an estate agent to book some viewings and possibly get good advice too. Which ones would you recommend?

I'd start with Idealista. It has lots of property all over Spain so you can quickly see what's available for your budget in a particular area (and spot the local agents).

I'd look at Hi Homes as an estate agent, do bear in mind that it is always a good idea to speak to a mortgage broker beforehand as estate agents are not always aware of the costs involved, even though they often say that they are! Idealista's mortgage calculator, for example, is way off base with cost for non-residents. Get yourself an agreement in principle before doing any viewings, to be aware of what purchase price you can afford. I work for a mortgage adviser firm that has 20 years experience, here to help if you need.

If your question is still relevant, I can recommend a couple of nice satellite towns near Granada: Cenes de la Vega and Otura - clean air, peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful views of snow-capped mountains.

If you happen to need any help, I know a local real estate agent from Granada who studied and lived in the UK through the Erasmus program. I think he could assist you. Feel free to reach out if needed.

Good luck with your search!
