New members of the Spain forum, introduce yourselves here - 2022
Hola. Hi I'm Carmen from the UK. Despite being named a very Spanish name (my parents seem to have no idea why!!) I only have 145 days of Duolingo in Spanish under my belt. I have just spent 6 weeks in Spain housesitting, and am really tempted to settle my affairs in the UK move over to Spain in the a few months time. However, being solo, and 61, I'm somewhat nervous, as its often a lot easier to face these challenges with someone else a partner / husband with whom to discuss the issues and solutions - a problem shared and all that. I'd be fascinated to hear from any singles who have bitten the bullet, and to hear your experiences. Carmen x

Hi, I am Wayne, a qualified mountain bike guide and I run a mountain biking, cycling and walking business in Ronda. We arrange day trips, mini-breaks, holidays and tours for people who live in other parts of Spain or for travelers from abroad. I have had to list myself on the site as just 'Tourist Guide' which doesn't explain what I do at all but I can't see how to add a new category which would be more relevant to me. Any ideas? Thanks
Extra relaxing amateur, casual or professional training - feel free to join our cycling clubs, adventure holidays.

Hi I am a new member and I find it hard to seek other members in Spain. I live in Alicante and it is of no use to connect to people living in Barcelona or Tenerife.
It should be possible to narrow the search for people closer to you. Regards from

@Julien Hi,
I am thinking of living in Tenerife; have just booked a months' long stay there to explore and get a feel for the place. Any recommendations what I should research while I am there?
Hello,
My name is Mike, married with two teenage daughters. We lived in Madrid from 2010-2017. I was on a full expat package from a USA company sponsored by a Spanish company so it was relatively easy to move and settle since I had a lot of help from my company and locals on visas, paperwork, etc...We fell in love with Spain and did not want to move but my contract could no longer be extended so had to move back to the USA. We plan to try to get back to Madrid in 2025 on our own, most likely on a golden visa by buying a property. Will not have any company support so sure I will have plenty of questions doing it on our own this time. My wife and kids speak fluent Spanish, I was decent before I left but will definately need to brush up and practice when we get back.
Un saludo,
Mike
