Changing Address to outside portugal (NIF)

shahar2k9

Hey all,

If I'm changing my citizen address to a different country, is it changing my NIF address as well?
I don't want to pay taxes or anything, I'm not living in Portugal, but have a NIF number (I am a citizen)

Thanks!

Hi Shahar2k9,

People who are not resident in Portugal having a Portuguese NIF, and who are not EU citizens, they need to have a tax representative in Portugal.

Find out more about this using the e-balcão:

https://www.acesso.gov.pt/loginRedirect … artID=PFIN

or other contact from AT Finanças:

Thanks.
Is it possible to cancel the nif some how?

shahar2k9

Ill elaborate.
I have two citizenships.
One of them is portuguese.
But i don't live in portugal or in the eu.
I don't want a nif number.
1. Can i cancel the nif number?
2. Do i need a tax representitive if i have a portuguese  citizenship but live abroad?
