Schwab Inheritance

Hi!

Are there any US citizens living in Portugal who have a Schwab International account and have lost their spouse?

First, sorry for your loss.  Could you please tell me what documents did Schwab require for you to get the money?

Was it as simple as showing the death certificate and marriage certificate?

I believe Portugal's inheritance law states simply that the spouse gets everything, if no living parents or children.

I know that listing a beneficiary is not possible with that type of account.
