So, I was finally able to log in the the AIMA website, paid the required fees. Yesterday I received an email requesting:

1 - Residence permit - ok

2 - Proof of accommodation - my current 3 year lease finishes October 31, 2026

3 - Proof of internship assistance - I am not sure what this is. I arrived in Portugal 5 years ago on a D7 visa

4 - Proof of means of substance. Is my tax return which I file here sufficient?

5 - Proof of exceptional situation - what is this?

6 - Proof of health system registration. I have my utente here, as well as private insurance.

7 - Passport - ok

8 - Request for criminal background check. Since I have lived here for 5 years, where do I get this?

You must declare this authorisation at the service desk for them to check this when you apply for renewal.

These were questions she got in the Email she received. Maybe No. 5 question got lost in translation?
