Building services engineer - Job prospects

JC20

Hi everybody,

My partner has been offered a great work opportunity which will involve relocating to the Netherlands.

I'm a building services engineer (specialised in mechanical design) and I was wondering whether I'll be able to find a suitable position considering I can't speak Dutch at the moment.

Could anybody provide some insight on this?

Thank  you

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Speaking Dutch is probably the single most useful thing you can do if you want to get any work in the Netherlands; principally because that's the language your customers speak.

My advice is to join something like LinkedIn and reach out to your colleagues/peers already working in the Netherlands to find out who is hiring and if they'll take on a none Dutch speaking person.

Hope this helps.
