how long can I stay if I lose my job ?

Looking for anyone who has actually been through this. I’m a Turkish citizen, came to the Netherlands in 2022 on a highly skilled migrant (kennismigrant) permit, and last year switched to a “regulier bepaalde tijd” permit with “arbeid in loondienst, arbeid vrij toegestaan, TWV niet vereist” — i.e. free on the labour market, no work permit needed, based on the EU-Turkey Association Agreement / Decision 1/80 after 3 years of legal work.

My question: if I become involuntarily unemployed, how long can I stay in the Netherlands while looking for a new job without losing my residence right?

Has anyone here actually lost their job while on this type of Turkish / Association-Agreement free-labour permit? What did the IND do? Did you register with UWV / claim WW? Roughly how long did you have to find new work? Any real experience would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!

Under the rules of the EU-Turkey Association Agreement (Decision 1/80), if you become involuntarily unemployed after achieving a free labor market status, you are legally entitled to a job-search period of up to 6 months to find a new employer.
