What is the GVVA Permit for NL ?

GuestUser567

Hello All,

What is the GVVA Permit?

Can a Non-EEA/Swiss national work on this permit in NL?

What is the duration of this permit and can it be extended?

Is it the same as the HSM permit in terms of company & govt. benefits?

Also, the GVVA Permit duration is considered to obtain NL PR?

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The GVVA Permit is a combined residence and work permit.  Nationals from outside the EU and  EEA must apply for these if they wish to live and work anywhere in the Netherlands.

All work permits are by their nature temporary and can be rescinded at any time, for example, if you lose your job before you have built up any entitlement to State help, you will not be entitled to social benefits and could be deported.  Residence permits are also temporary, if you have a biometric passport, they can be valid for the duration of that document (i.e. max 10 years), after 5 years you can apply for permanent residence; there is no guarantee it will be granted.

HSM - I assume you are referring to the Highly Skilled Migrant visa; they are the same, the main differences are you have a sponsor (your new employer) who has met some requirements to enable them to sponsor you and you are coming to do a job that they don't have anybody else in Holland who can do it.  You also don't have to learn Dutch for this visa, for other visas you do.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

What is the processing time for this permit after submitting all the required documents?

Thanks in advance

Hi again.

Once you have passed the Dutch language exam and have all the required documents they ask for, then 90 days from the date of submitting a fully compliant application; the IND is the judge as to whether an application is compliant or not.  It could in extenuating circumstances go longer than that, but these are extremely rare occasions.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

No, I am asking about the GVVA work permit processing time.

Hi again.

That is what I'm talking about.

Hello,

Has anyone processed a GVVA work permit from India?

The employer has already filed an application for a GVVA work permit with IND.

What is the whole process after the application is approved if anyone can explain it here?

Thanks in advance.
