Buying a house in the Netherlands

mamatv

Hello everyone

I am thinking of buying a house in the Netherlands. I am new here and have no credit history. I have some savings.

I intend to make a loan from a bank in about 20 - 30 years.

1. What websites should I take a look to find a house?

2. The interest rate is flat, or negotiable. Is it fix during, say 20 years, or change every year, or something else?

3. What should I know when considering a house? E.g. some common hidden problems of a house?

Thanks

Hi again,

You can buy a house in Holland (in as much as there are no restrictions on you doing so).

There are many websites that act as portals for many houses that are for sale, a popular one is Funda; this link will take you to their website.  You can use Google to find others.

I've no idea of current interest rates.

There's a website called Mortgagemonster that may help you plan this; this link will take you to their online mortgage calculator.

I've never used them, so buyer beware.

Hope this helps.
