Positive TB test - Residence Permit

Be logical in your reasoning and in what is officially asked of you.

Why would you want your husband to receive his RP if he does not fit? The only thing to do is to do a second test for safety in the same clinic or in another.

Tuberculosis is easily treatable but is also very contagious. So why the local population should assume this risk. https://www.cdc.gov/features/tbsymptoms/index.html

So worry about the health of your husband first, rather than looking for a sleight of hand to get around the problem ...

He is very healthy!! He is not showing  any sings of active TB.. Also If he had active TB  my test result   will not be negative. 

His skin test may be fake-positive according to his previous vaccinations.. we will figure out this with new blood test.

What did make u think that i dont care about his health. 😅 if he is infected he will get treatment. Latent TB is not spreadable, not make people sick.

We both know even if he has LATENT TB viruse, it is curable.

So thats why right now our first concern is will it effect on his residence permit or no.

If you leave your country for a job offer and waste all your saved money for rent an appartment and decorate your appartment  from zero. You will also worry about RP i can give you guarantee about that.🤷🏻‍♀️

Same here. I would appreciate any updates on the positive skin TB test. Looks like many people are having this issue, but unfortunately there is not much information on the web regarding the impact of the latent TB on the residence permit in Luxembourg.

Some people and even MD's are not aware that if you had a BCG you should not have a PPD skin test because the results will never be accurate.  Unfortunately I learned this the hard way.  I had a BCG in the Netherlands when working in healthcare.  About 8 years later I had a PPD in the US which was positive.  I was then treated for 9 months for TB with Isoniazid (very nasty drug).  After the fact I was informed by another MD that I should have never been treated.  When I tried to contact the MD who "treated" me I was told she no longer practiced medicine........

I was specifically asked if I had the BCG before the test. They administered the test anyway (Negative). If anyone who tested positive can leave a note here it will be immensely helpful to others.

AFAIK unless you got the BCG vaccine much after birth, there is no effect on the skin test result.

If you look at the US CDC website it states that having had a BCG vaccine may cause a false positive PPD. 
And as I previously stated I had  a positive PPD after having had a BCG.

Iam in same situation , I don't have any symptoms my husband and sons RP is processed but mine our GP kept on hold stating few more tests needed. What will happen is there any issue for the Residence permit ? Pls let me know what happened next in your husband's case?

Hi..  All is well. After the blood report they sent to expert doctor since it was latent he suggested to take medication to avoid future risk.  ( If we are ok to proceed with  medication fine else every 6 months we should get chest xray done ) that's it.
Our GP has referred to expert and simultaneously sent my docs for residence permit.  I got my card last wk.
I was curious to know but didn't find any information in this situation.  So updating here as it many be useful to someone.

I tested positive for tuberculosis in the blood test based sample and later did the chest xray which was negative.

My question whether that will affect my residence permit process or not.
