Hi umahichibuzo,

What is your job exactly? Do you draw blood samples, or do you analyze the specimens?

Thank you,

Lauranne

Thank you @Lauranne

I am a trained Medical Laboratory Scientist in the fields of Medical Microbiology, Heamatology and Clinical chemistry.

I analyze blood samples and other body fluids such as semen for diagnosis. I also make diagnosis through culture and plate reading. I am well trained in antibodies screening, compatibility testing and cross matching. I can draw blood comfortably.

I have  BSc. degree in Medical Laboratory science, with over there years experience in a Federal University Teaching hospital in my home county.

Please, how can I work in Luxembourg as a trained Medical Laboratory Scientist??

@umahichibuzo

Hello umahichibuzo,

In Luxembourg, only certified nurses are usually allowed to perform blood draws in laboratories. If you don’t have this qualification, it won’t be a job you can take on. As for the analysis part, I think it’s best to contact the laboratories directly. There are several options: Ketterthill, Bionext, Labo.lu… You could also try reaching out to the National Health Laboratory (LNS). Alternatively, you can search for a laboratory technician position on the usual job search sites, which I’ve listed here.

Good luck with your search, and feel free to keep us updated on your progress; your experience will no doubt be helpful for other members.

Thank you!
