Italian moving to France: Regime des impatries

Marco Emme

Hi everyone,

I’m Italian and I’m currently working as employed engineer for a multinational company in Milan and now my company is asking me to move to France with a French Local contract.

I’m trying to understand the "régime des impatries"  : if it’s applicable to my case and what would be an estimated gross-to-net salary conversion taking advantage of it.

Does anyone have experiences?

Any insights or reliable links are much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Marco

your multinational company should have a relocation team within HR or else they outsource it. You should be able to ask them everything and also get a worked example for your income and take home pay.

In a former role I had people transfer to an EU country from a UK team, HR transfer team were able to show exactly the effect on package. Those transferring to lower cost countries were very happy whilst those transferring to Nordics had a hard decision and needed to agree on a new package due to higher taxes and cost of living. But if your company want you elsewhere then they must value you, so don’t sell yourself short - it’s a big move you are planning.

Bonne chance
