South African / British Dual Citizen Passport / ID Process

Guest1230789

Hey everyone,

My wife is a dual citizen, however her South African passport is expiring very soon and she needs  new one. Only problem is, is that she does not have South African ID due to being too young when she got her first passport. Has anyone recently been through this process or similar and can give me advice? We want to move back to South Africa eventually.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

You need to contact the South African Embassy; their contact details can be found on their website; follow this link.

Hope this helps.

This is a very lengthily and complicated process if you are applying from the UK - my son had to do the same however he managed to get to SA for a holiday and got his ID card within days - if you want to reach the SA embassy in London hopefully they answer you - their website is more informative :)

Good luck
