Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Driving licence.  Assuming it's valid for 12 months when you arrive in the UK, you can drive on your current Chinese licence for 12  months from your day of arrival in the UK, at which point you will have to take the UK theory and practical driving test.  There are no benefits to waiting until the last minute to do this, so my advice would be to start the process when you get here.

Esims.  All of the big networks offer this product.

I hope this helps.

From memory, so check before you believe it

If you have held a UK licence in the past, you might be able to renew it.

I think after 2 or 3 years, the DVLA decides if you are allowed to renew without retaking a test.

If you can show you have been driving regularly, you might be able to renew without hassle.
