Hi Christa, I would recommend applying while in the US since you do not want to move there and then be denied family reunification.  The rules are very strict right now unless your husband has been offered a job in DK making over 408,000 KR or so.

You likely do not meet the attachment requirements that are in place for family reunification as they are now.  These will hopefully change in the near future as you have already heard.

I am in the same boat as you.  I am a Danish citizen living in the US with an American wife and 2 dual citizen children.  We are also looking at moving back to Denmark in the near future.

I wonder when the new proposed rules for family reunification might be implemented. Are you hearing anything about the changes in Denmark?

Until now, the parliament hasn't introduced this bill, but it seems that the parties agree on changes which will make it easier for native Danes to return with their families why it'll just be a matter of time.

Hello I am wondering if someone can help me with a few visa questions. My partner (danish)  and I (American)  are looking to apply for the reunification visa. We met while living in Australia and have since moved to nz to work.  She is 27 so over the 26 year rule I believe?  We want to know if It is best to apply from within Denmark or from the states. We are leaving nz soon to visit both countriea for a month.  We have also both been reading about the rules changes and are not sure if these will impact us.  Any help or ideas would be great.  Finding good information is pretty difficult!  Thanks in advance BEN
