Autoexpreso (toll pass) for recently shipped vehicle

No worries this happened to us too when we picked up our vehicles from Crowley. We had no issues at the Cesco registering the vehicle . Nothing PR can do to track the vehicle as there is no ticketing system for out of state vehicles . The lady there told me consider it a free day . We did get a toll pass at the first available booth. And registered our cars within 48 hours .  The same with the drivers license. No way to send tickets back to your home state. Most people here have PR license and a license from their home state. Just be careful because they told us we didn't need out driving record from back home and I had to order one. It took 4 weeks. All Cesco did was look at it and hand it back.

This was a right on time post, as I am also shipping my car from Atlanta.  I will be picked up by this Saturday and we fly out to Aguadilla on Monday!  My question is, should i not cancel my registration until i get there and receive the vehicle or did you cancel your registration and drove the vehicle with the plates with no registration?

Cars that come here will be heavily taxed when it gets here.  Then you will have to deal with getting the paperwork done as well as registration  etc.  This will be an all day event maybe even 2 days.  I wasnt going to pay the heavy tax, so I didnt have a vehicle shipped to the island.  However this group has lots of information pertaining to this topic

Wait until you receive the vehicle and is registered In PR. You will also get new plates. Depending on your state laws you can toss or ship back the plates and terminate your registration when convenient.

As previously stated by Rey do not cancel your registration you will need it until your vehicle is registered here. I would also suggest not canceling your insurance as well. Yes auto shippers carry insurance which you pay for "sea transport " it's in your paperwork from Crowley. But you need your insurance for port. We dropped our cars (2) off in Jacksonville , Florida. They shipped out 2 days later.
