East has homes and tourist destinations. West has many many foreigners buying property from USA, Canada and Europe. No walls, no razor wire, no broken glass on top of your walls west Ceiba.

  I have heard some people prefer east of la ceiba and some west of la ceiba.

  I personally prefer West of La Ceiba .  The convenience of being close to the airport, mall , hospital, the Colonia and having a maxi despensa 5 minutes away is hard to beat.  We live on the beach at La Ceiba Beach Club, our local neighborhood is Colonial Ponce.  We have been here full time for just over a year and I love our neighborhood we have made good friends in Ponce as well as La Ceiba beach Club.

All the Hotels I know are in the East side of La Ceiba, Local banks will easily give loans east of La Ceiba, all the bilingual schools are in east of La Ceiba.  Would some one buy in Miami a vacation home in Liberty city?  The only good reason to go to the west would be price, price that you could not get back.

If you want a nighborhood house, look for a local broker.

Almost 400 beach properties sold on the west side of La Ceiba over the past 6 years between 3 different developers.
East side of Ceiba less than 100 in 6 years with 9 developers. Just sayin....

Sue and Rob's bungalow is gorgeous and in a very nice, tropical beachfront community of 13 homes. There's a 2 story club house and community pool along with a large champa (tiki hut) for parties and cook outs.

Just compare before you purchase both sides, neighborhoods, location, traffic,etc, Do not let any broker decide for you.

yes make sure your happy take time to make a decission dont let anyone rush you Life to short to loose your shirt on such a big investement you only live once

All great tips!  Have to disagree that east is better than west though, I know in our community we really need more homes for the amount of people wanting to rent..............just saying, actually have lived here for the past year and observed....... 10 minutes to maxi despensa or the airport and a safe neighborhood....really hard to beat that

Hi Ron,  the property is located on the beach in the village of Colonial Ponce , 5 minutes from La Ceiba airport and 15 min drive to city, the lot size is aprox 1200 sq feet and the car has 158,000 miles on it.

I am familiar with this area. Which unit is it?  On the road side or inside the development

Yes it is, first house next to road on way in, completely turn key, the house is about 600 sq feet but I have queen bed in master and 2 single beds in spare and still plenty of room, it's a nice cozy bungalow...

There are direct beachfront and ocean view lots and homes/bungalows that are for sale in different phases of La Ceiba Beach Club.
Phase 5 has a massive 2 story beach home under construction right now with roof top terrace. Even if your just simply looking for a small vacation home or land investment stop by and look for your own self. What a gorgeous area of private beach development.
There are no other private beach developments in Honduras that have carried on and throughout the last 16 + years.

Have you given RE/MAX a look? There are plenty of properties on the mainland where it is most affordable in La Ceiba and Trujillo also. I believe their cheapest bungalow is $38,000 in La Ceiba. They are a great resource. Highly recommended!
