does anyone happen to know whether there's a place to buy...

snorkeling gear in Las Terrenas?

one of those folding, ultra-portable backpacking stools or chairs, anywhere in the DR? (I imagine you can get normal folding chairs in a lot of places, but I'm thinking of the really small, lightweight ones.)

if the answer is "no, there's not," that would be helpful to know too.

Thanks!

I feel your pain. There is the Yuan store, where you will find chairs that collapse and slide into a carrying case with a shoulder strap.  I searched the entire downtown LT for chairs for guests. I asked everywhere. I am not sure if you want to contact Amazon. I found lightweight beach sand chairs that fit in my suitcase.

Cheers!

No pain so far ... I have not yet begun to shop wink.png(aside from keeping an eye out during Jumbo runs).

Just looking for ways to extend my outdoor time really. And planning a day trip to Las Terrenas sometime soon. LT seems to have more dive- and snorkel-oriented shops than Samana city. And having recently tried a snorkel boat tour 🤢, I am highly motivated to explore snorkel-from-shore options.

Thanks for the tips!

You might check with The Dive Academy and other diving companies to see if they can tell you where to buy the snorkeling gear.

As for chairs, I've never seen anything like that in LT.
