Working on electric project, need Kwh cost of electricity

Hello all,

I'm not finding any current information on elec costs in the DR.  I'm working up payouts on some technology evaluating and that information would be invaluable to me.

If any of you could look at your bill and post the per Kwh information (along with any other 'trick' fees that are added in) that would be extremely helpful to me and much appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Jay

As with every answer here in the DR, it depends.  In this case it will depend upon where in the DR, as prices vary depending upon your location and the supplier in that area.  I live in the Bavaro Punta Cana area and CEPM is my provider.  The cost per kwh is 13.98 pesos per kwh plus a 141 peso per month service charge.

I hope this gives you something to work with.
Any users of the EDE system have exactly the same prices anywhere in the country IF Edeeste Edesur or Edenorte!

First 200 kwh are 4.44 per and scales up to 11.98 at 700. This is from memory, correct this figures if I am wrong. These are residential amount. Basic monthly fee is less than 150 with a meter.
As posted the charges vary depending on load required.

Here is the explanation in Spanish by Edesur:

You will find the same information for Edenorte and Edeeste on line and these 3 organisations supply most electricity in DR. Bavaro is a private company as a noted above and a higher price.

Edesur posted now tariffs in August and I will leave you to understand this.

I looked at my recent bill and the KW cost was 4.44 with a small fixed cost added.
Thanks to all of you.  With that info I'll just see if I can find out what the 'average' consumption for an modest expat home is, divide the $/Kwh and that should take into account the ramping of price.

Thanks again!

Jay
Great new tech stuff from Iceland !  Vertical wind turbines, very interesting.
Not sure there is an average honey.  I am single with an energy efficient a/c I use nightly. Not home all day, I work.  I spend  about 2,500 rd a month. I have automatic washer and gas hot water.
