Why I became a citizen

Nosnownyc

Many people have asked me why i became a citizen of República Dominicana when residency will due. Bueno , X amount of years ago I bought my first property. My Dominican wife at that time told me I was crazy and went on about the government. Despite those realities , I told her the country is ripe to flourish and I knew that the cost would only rise . Furthermore, getting paperwork done through the government would become a bureaucratic nightmare.
My family are born and raised in DR. The culture of the town was romantic with the stores closing at 12 -2pm for food and siesta along with the freshest food that I have eaten. Yes , people are needful but I was groomed how to nevagate through it and even a simple passing hola to the more shady people neutralized any of thier projected thoughts of extranjeras of being " stuck up ". There are still places where I was born I would not go to especially at night and the same holds valid in DR. I had lived in South beach florida before it took off and i hope it doesn't happen here. This country got into my blood and i knew i would stay. I know that many ex pats are in different financial situations or see no reason to become a citizen ; I judge nobody. I saw the opportunity and I took it , it was really that simple. Yes , there are pro and cons to everything. It just got into my blood and i feel more connected. I am not looking for this post to be dissected , it meant for people who have thought about citizenship and wondered why.
