safe parking for the car during absence

in addition to finding a location, I suggest researching tips for storing vehicles long term. Ours was stored for about four months in Florida between our moving down here and being able to ship it down. We had it up on jacks to protect the tires and had my parents drop in every month or so to start it and let it run for a few minutes.

When I bought my truck a few years I looked into long term parking , and I found on google a long term parking lot near the airport , . ( in puerto plata) not sure if it was covered or out in the sun

   I remember it was a little expensive ( I think it was $80 - 100 a month) or somewhere around that …. But I was driving around the secondary streets in PP and saw a few places w/big yards and cars parked in the yards with tarps over them … so I stopped and asked about parking my truck and most were more than happy to meet an American, 😂 and we agreed to $2000 pesos a month and the woman told she would have a nephew start it once a week for me…another $100 pesos a week..👍( I covered it with a new tarp after every visit). I used to call  her up when I was returning and she would have it washed for me ( which I paid for ( $200 pesos ) …. So there are long term by the airport.. but cheaper if you look….. remember if that car isn’t started every week or so your battery will be dead and the gasoline stale when you return….Good luck
