Retired snowbirds seeking winter life and social connections in Dominica

Hi everyone. Looking to spend two to three  winter months in Dominica as a snowbird. Retired, born in England and my husband was born in beautiful Dominica. Looking for advice as to how to build a social circle and also would like to volunteer at a hospital. retirement home or other similar establbliishment. An active senior, would also like to know if clubs are available that I could join. All ideas welcome. Thanks.

It’s a small island, so connections tend to grow through everyday interactions rather than formal networking.


A few tips that often help:


Join local activities: hiking groups or diving clubs. Dominica is very outdoorsy, so shared activities = instant conversation starters


Spend time in the same places: Regular visits to the same cafés, markets, or beaches
