Car import in Costa Rica

As I heard this the law that allows tax/duties refund to new residents if they bring a vehicle to the country has been finally implemented. Taking into account specifics of CR, there is a huge distance between the law in existence and its actual implementation.

Can anyone confirm if it is actually working?

@Henrych It still have inspection here in  Costa Rica

@Henrych

The last i heard it was passed and published in the official gazette on July 2021 and it was sent to the immigration department to be implemented, this should have been done 3 months after it was publishes in the official gazette but to date nothing has been done still waiting PURA VIDA.

Yes pura vida

sure, pura vida thing is in action...i think that even if a lawyer confirms its existence there is no guarantee that you get reimbursed. Too risky to try unless someone has a friend in the government to verify. Taxes are insane.
