Belize Tourist Statistics by Region

belizelandoffices

Some people like to be near tourist areas, while others don't. The Belize Tourism Board posts tourism statistics publicly:

https://www.belizetourismboard.org/belize-tourism/statistics/

You can scroll through the tables and find information like what country tourists are coming from, which ports of entry are the most popular, where they're staying in Belize (rentals and average accommodation pricing per night), and more. I found the Visits to Different Destinations table on the bottom right of page 2 and Occupancy by Region on the top left of page 5 really interesting.

Most of us know the Cayes are popular, but would you guess more than 25% of rentals in the Cayo District (San Ignacio) were foreign occupied in December? Or 32% in Placencia and 42% in Hopkins? In comparison, Corozal rentals were only 7% foreign occupancy during the same time.

@belizelandoffices Thanks for those valuable statistics. Belize makes it really easier (than Canada) to access those statistics publicly. Great Job.
