If you speak Russian your odds of finding some connections would much better. Maybe check Facebook Groups for Nha Trang EXpats.

BEWARE OF UNUSUAL SEASONAL FLOODING IN NHA TRANG AT THE MOMENT

Do not trust your hotel or your travel agency to give you the best information regarding local conditions, as Vietnamese are notorious for minimizing such problems in order to retain client reservations

Your best information about current conditions (which may very well subside prior to your arrival in December) is probably going to be in Facebook groups or on TripAdvisor

To see the current conditions, search on YouTube for "Nha Trang Flooding".

Make sure you are looking at the most current videos, because there was also flooding a few weeks ago after the typhoon passed nearby

I agree.

As much as I don't like to refer people away from this website, my experience (when previously house hunting in Nha Trang) is that the long-term expats there are usually active in the FB groups.

So you (@JOHNSON01STEPHEN) know, many of the long-term expat residents there live on the north side of town--north of the Cái River--away from the central tourist district

Good luck!

NOTE: Nha Trang is usually a better choice for wintering in Việt Nam than the Đà Nẵng/Hội An/Huế region, and I often recommend it as a more sensible alternative.

This is just an abnormal year for the Northern Monsoon season.

IF YOU DO DECIDE TO CHANGE YOUR PLANS, I recommend Vũng Tàu on the coast near Ho Chi Minh City or Phú Quốc island. Much lower chance of weather disruptions and it's significantly warmer there during the northern hemisphere winters
